Industry Leading Trade Associations Launch United States of Tech, Bringing Together Nation’s Top Technology, Policy and Legislative Leaders to Promote U.S. Innovation

Jul 30, 2019

Debut event to take place August 6th in Conjunction with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) 2019 Legislative Summit

Washington, D.C., July 30, 2019  – CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global technology industry, today announced the launch of United States of Tech – an event series focused on bringing together the nation’s top technology, policy and legislative leaders to create an economic and policy climate that fosters America’s technology innovation leadership.

The inaugural United States of Tech event will be held on August 6th in Nashville, TN during the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) 2019 Legislative Summit. The first event, Innovation in the Music City, will be co-sponsored by CompTIA, Consumer Technology Association (CTA), Internet Association, Internet Coalition, Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), TechNet and the Greater Nashville Technology Council.

United States of Tech events throughout the year will focus on highlighting technology breakthroughs and a wide variety of innovation issues to include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy, tech workforce, space and transportation.

“An open dialogue among business leaders and elected officials allows for the exchange of ideas and information that ultimately leads to the development of policies that foster economic growth, address society’s most vexing challenges, and promote consumer protections,” said Cinnamon Rogers, executive vice president for public advocacy at CompTIA. “The United States of Tech will provide a forum for such dialogue and build trust and a common sense of purpose between policymakers and the tech policy ecosystem.”

Ashley Berrang, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs for ITI, added: “From K-12 education to healthcare to public safety, technology enables governments across the country to better serve their constituents. The United States of Tech gives state government and industry leaders a forum to share ideas, address challenges, and develop long-term solutions that leverage and deploy innovative technologies to spur economic growth, save taxpayer dollars, and support the United States’ tech leadership. ITI is thrilled to be a part of this dynamic initiative.”
