For over a year now, law enforcement has been calling for tech companies to build backdoors into their encryption. With the recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, this seemingly-dormant debate between the government and the tech industry has escalated yet again. These encryption backdoors may present significant problems for both personal privacy/security and the U.S. economy, and it's time to debate where to draw a clear line between individual privacy and the appropriate reach of law enforcement.
