Business Development Engineer, Datto
Executive Council, Advancing Diversity in Technology
Jason Alexander Anthony A. Pryce graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in marketing. I have been in the Tech field for over 17 years starting with working in the Home PC Department at Circuit City, to Manager of GeekSquad, and now as a member of the business development team at Datto. I have a passion for technology and realize its prolific impact of our daily lives.
I see this community as a way to share my millennial values and ideas in a way that furthers the cause. I had the opportunity to take part in the community’s sessions during ChannelCon and I was taken aback with how there was people from all walks of life, races, and genders taking part. The method in how we broke into smaller groups with complete strangers and identified issues that the industry faces and came up with potential fixes was incredible.
According to Merriam Webster Diversity is the condition of having or being composed of differing elements: variety, especially: the inclusion of different types of people (such as people of different races or cultures) in a group or organization. I believe I can bring my own experiences that I have experienced as a young African American male forging ahead in this industry. Whether by design or unintentionally there have been so many obstacles for people like myself to not only to survive in tech but also become leaders and influencers.
I want to be a part of the change that will pivot the industry to be more inclusive of different people and through that provide more opportunities to all.
