CompTIA has joined the recently created Bipartisan Policy Center’s Coalition to Modernize American Infrastructure. CompTIA has stated that a 21st century infrastructure ecosystem includes transportation (roads, bridges and airports), water (public utilities) and energy (electric grid) that is layered by cross-cutting, secure, smart technology and enabled by ubiquitous broadband connectivity and sensors.

The Coalition to Modernize American Infrastructure is built on shared principles including the idea that “to ensure future economic prosperity, transportation, energy, broadband, water and wastewater infrastructures have to be a national priority.” The Coalition’s core principles include:

  • Infrastructure—including transportation, energy, broadband, water and wastewater—must be a national priority in order to ensure future economic prosperity.
  • Robust, reliable, long-term federal funding is essential.
  • The U.S. should unleash the resources of the private sector as partners in addressing our infrastructure needs.
  • The U.S. should adopt policies to deliver modern infrastructure more quickly and at less cost.

Other coalition members include the US Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers and the Business Roundtable. Click here for a full list of members.
