Xerox will sponsor the CompTIA Educational Foundation’s 2010 Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic and the First Annual Creating Futures Charity Miniature Golf tournament. Both events benefit the foundation’s Creating Futures program which provides IT training and certification opportunities to individuals in need, including military veterans, individuals with disabilities, women, minorities, at-risk youth and dislocated workers.

“It’s simply a win-win for all that get involved with our events, and we couldn’t be happier to have an industry leader like Xerox supporting our mission to help more individuals launch IT careers,” said John Venator, president and CEO, CompTIA Educational Foundation.

“The foundation’s Creating Futures program brings new energy and ideas to our industry through innovative workforce development programs, and these fundraising events help extend the foundation’s reach and provide more opportunities," said Gary Gillam, vice president, channel operations, Xerox North America Reseller Sales, and chair of the Creating Futures Leadership Council. "I encourage the rest of the industry to join in and support Creating Futures."

The miniature golf event will take place during the opening reception of CompTIA’s Member Meeting on April 7 at Swissotel in Chicago, Ill. The Charity Golf Classic will run August 9 at the TPC San Antonio golf course during CompTIA’s annual Breakaway conference.

Individuals and companies can make a donation to Creating Futures, and prospective participants can apply for training by visiting the Foundation’s website, http://www.CompTIA-EF.org.  For more sponsorship information, contact Dennis Zimmerman at [email protected].
