Spring is wafting through the windows.  Summer will be here before we know it.  It’s time to plan out your summer travels.  Between trips to the beach and hanging by the pool, there’s one trip you need to take to keep your business running at top efficiency.  CompTIA Breakaway.  It’s the premier education event for companies doing business in the IT channel.

More than 1,100 IT channel leaders – including some 350 solution providers – are expected at Breakaway 2011, which for the first time will be held in Washington, D.C. The conference is scheduled for August 1-4 at the Washington Hilton.

It’s your key time to learn, partner and accelerate your business in a channel-neutral setting. Plus, registration is free for CompTIA members and just $250 for non-members.

New to the Breakaway education program is our Foundations Workshops series. These instructor-led training sessions will help IT solution providers evolve current business models into successful practices for cloud computing, healthcare IT and unified communications.

Also added to this year’s conference program are our Quick Start Sessions, 45- to 60-minute instructor-led programs that provide an overview and beginning steps for launching a new business model, practice or service offering.

Additional channel training at Breakaway 2011 includes the CompTIA Security Trustmark pre-exam workshop, peer-to-peer discussions and panel discussions featuring industry thought-leaders.

Call for Speakers

Have a great idea for a session?  Education tracks are in development and speakers are being sought in the following areas:

  • Business opportunities in cloud computing, unified communications and other fast-growing technologies.

  • Entering new markets, including financial services, healthcare and state and local government.

  • Strategies for running a successful IT channel business, including day-to-day operational challenges, using social media and partnering opportunities.

  • Cybersecurity considerations, from ways to differentiate your business’s security credentials to helping customers deal with their security issues.

The complete list of topics and an online speaker submission form are available at Breakaway Speaking Opportunities. The deadline for submissions is May 16.

Technology Vendor Fair

Also now open is the booth selection process for CompTIA members intending to exhibit at the Breakaway Technology Vendor Fair. Only members can exhibit at Breakaway and they must sign up by May 16th. Memberships start at as little as $650 a year and include complimentary exhibit space and unlimited staff registrations for Breakaway.

See you in D.C. this summer.
