CompTIA certified professionals now have a few new options to highlight their certified status.

Credentialing service Blue Ribbon Techs and professional talent database Brainhunter.com now provide CompTIA certification validation on online profiles. So instead of confirming your certified status to multiple potential employers, you can do it once and apply to multiple contracting jobs.

The integrations with Zylog Systems (Canada) Ltd, which owns the Brainhunter recruitment network, and Blue Ribbon Techs are just the first. CompTIA plans to offer the technology supporting online CompTIA credential validation to other staffing and recruitment services later this summer.

"This service is especially important for the growing number of independent contractor technicians," said Terry Erdle, CompTIA executive vice president for skills certification. "Until now, these IT pros had to validate their skills and certifications for every job they took on. Now they can provide this information once and have it available to any and all customers or prospective clients they work with."

With Blue Ribbon Techs, the CompTIA logos will appear automatically in an IT professional's profile immediately after he or she updates the profile with their CompTIA ID and access code. The process is similar on Zylog's Brainhunter.com website, where IT professionals can update their profile preferences to display CompTIA certification badges.

"We want to make it easy for the individual to promote the achievement of earning CompTIA certification," said John Mehrmann, CEO of Zylog Systems Canada, adding that online confirmation of certification credentials "is the new standard protocol."

The updated verification system benefits both employers and job seekers, Mehrmann said. Employers will be able to more rapidly identify IT professionals whose CompTIA certifications validate that they have desired skills and knowledge, and IT professionals can be immediately recognized for their CompTIA-certified skills.

Mac Lewis, CEO of Field Solutions, a Minneapolis company that sources and manages independent field technicians, sourcing and managing independent, third-party field technician resources, contends Blue Ribbon Techs’ ability to provide a single place for validating credentials "saves us time, assures currency of contractor credentials and improves the consistency of the independent contractor vetting process."

Enabling contractors to maintain their credentials in one place where they can be shared with multiple companies "reduces overall costs, for everyone, and reduces risk of using contractors with less screening or unverified qualifications," said Lewis, adding that will help Field Solutions consistently deliver quality outcomes for clients.
