CompTIA UK Members Honoured as PCR Women of the Year

Oct 20, 2016

Recognised by PCR as female role models and leaders in the industry

London – CompTIA, the leading nonprofit trade association for the technology industry, today congratulated four of its members on their recognition as PCR Women of the Year in the UK PC and tech industry.

Tracy Pound, Alicia Shepherd, Kirsty Guy and Alexa Greaves were among the women honored by PCR, the highly regarded media company. The third annual PCR Women of the Year awards ceremony was held earlier this month in London.

"It is important for us to recognise and promote the achievements of women in IT and tech,” PCR deputy editor Jonathan Easton said in presenting the awards.

Pound, founder and managing director of MaximITy, and member of the CompTIA Board of Directors, was honored as the 2016 PCR Woman of the Year.

Greaves, CEO at AAG Systems Ltd., received the Business Mentor award.

Guy, marketing manager at Tech Data UK, was recognised as the Creative Marketer of the Year.

Shepherd, sales director at Entatech UK Ltd., received the award for Sales Brilliance.

Winners were chosen by a panel of eight experts, based on testimonials from each of the finalist’s colleagues, bosses, or work contacts.

“We’re thrilled to see Tracy, Alicia, Kirsty and Alexa honored by their industry peers for their commitment and dedication,” said Nancy Hammervik, senior vice president, industry relations, CompTIA. “With their outstanding leadership, professionalism and vision they serve as powerful role models and shining examples of the contributions that women make each day within our industry.”

The four award winners are exactly the type of role models that the industry needs at a time when CompTIA and its member organisations are striving to bring more gender diversity to the technology industry workforce.

Earlier this Autumn CompTIA launched Make Tech Her Story, an awareness campaign that aims to inspire industry leaders, educators, parents and, most importantly, girls to make the industry more gender inclusive. Visit http://maketechherstory.comptia.org/ to learn more and to get involved
