Downers Grove, Ill. – For the sixth consecutive year CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the technology industry association, has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois by the Daily Herald Business Ledger.
CompTIA placed second – its highest ranking ever – in the medium employer category for organizations with 100 to 499 employees.
A total of 74 small, medium and large employers were selected as Best Places to Work in Illinois for 2016 by the Daily Herald Business Ledger, a leading provider of business news and information about businesses and the economy in suburban Chicago. The annual program identifies Illinois businesses whose work environments benefit its workforce, business and the state economy.

As the leading association for the technology industry, CompTIA employees support some 2,000 member companies, 3,000 academic and training partners, 80,000 registered users and more than two million IT certification holders around the word.
Beyond the day-to-day operations employees are active throughout the year in a variety of charitable, community and social activities. Already this year, the CompTIA staff has participated in health-related endeavors, including a bone marrow donor registration day and a Get Fit for Summer Wellness Challenge. More than two dozen students took part in Bring Your Kids to Work Day. Also this year, CompTIA introduced a new program that encourages and pays for employees to learn a new language.
Earlier this year CompTIA was one of five employers in the Chicago metropolitan market singled out by Crain’s Chicago Business as a Best Place to Work for Women over 35. Last November CompTIA received a 2015 Top Workplaces honor from the Chicago Tribune.
CompTIA has approximately 200 employees worldwide, including 116 in its Downers Grove headquarters. The nonprofit association has been based in Illinois since 1985; and at its current location in Downers Grove since December 2010.
