CompTIA Public Technology Institute Honors Local Governments for Innovative Technology Solutions

Cities and Counties recognized for improving operations with technology


DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) industry and workforce, and the Public Technology Institute (PTI) announced today the winners of the 2022 PTI Solutions Awards.

The annual PTI Solutions Awards program recognizes CompTIA member cities and counties that have developed or deployed innovative technology solutions within the past 15 months that positively affected local government performance and service to the communities.

Most nominated projects focused on challenges associated with the widespread effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on communities of all sizes.

Categories included: Information Technology; Customer Service; Geospatial Information Systems; Public Safety, Emergency Management and Community Resiliency; and Web Services, E-Government, and Mobile Apps.

“These awards recognized the extremely important work carried out by public sector technology leaders and their teams,” said Dr. Alan Shark, vice president of public sector and executive director of CompTIA PTI. “The last few years have been challenging for local governments. These winners are exceptional examples of how local government leaders can leverage innovative thinking with technologies to improve communities.

Information Technology:

City of Seguin, Texas (pop. under 50,000)

City of Worcester, Mass. (pop. 50,000-249,000)

Alameda County, CA (pop. over 250,000)

 

Geospatial Information Systems:

City of Seguin, Texas (pop. under 50,000)

City of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif (pop.50,000-249,000)

 

Public Safety, Emergency Management, and Community Resiliency:

Latah County, Idaho (pop. under 50,000)

Nebraska Municipal Public Power (NMPP) (Associate PTI Member)

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (Associate PTI Member)

 

Web Services, E-Government and Mobile Apps:

City of Bellevue, Wash (pop. 50,000-249,000)

City of Bryan, Texas (pop. 50,000-249,000)

County of Alameda, Calif. (pop. over 250,000)
