Industry experts will discuss how to build robust tech skills and teams

London – Strategies and tactics for keeping technology skills and teams apace with the rapid rate of innovation will be featured during the CompTIA EMEA Member and Partner Conference Online 2020. The two-day conference 13 and 14 October is presented by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the global technology industry.

Leading off the workforce-themed sessions is Workforce Trends: Tracking Your Organisation's Skills Needs, and examination of shifts in the labour market and opportunities for careers in IT and cybersecurity careers. Business Interrupted: Managing Your Workforce in Challenging Economic Times will explore how businesses have adjusted on the fly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how those adjustments have reimagined their workforce needs. Speakers will discuss best practices and lessons learned for managing and developing teams through these challenging economic times, including how to maintain and build a team environment with a remote workforce. Session panelists include Kerry Harrison, digital skills partnership lead, Lancashire Digital Skills; Keshia Stewart, owner, TeachTech Solutions; Lyndsay Moger, head of human resources, Novatech; and Hannah Lloyd, vice president, channel sales, inSoc Inc.

Injecting Talent into Your Organisation will look at the ways organisations are developing talent, whether it is via recruiting externally or by developing apprentices into full-time workers. Ben Hansford, managing director, apprenticeships, Firebrand; Graham Hunter, vice president, EMEA, CompTIA; and Aaron Saxton, director of training and education, UKFast, are the scheduled speakers.

The pandemic has sped up the adoption of online learning. “Keeping the Wheels in Motion by Taking Learning Online” will look at how online learning creates opportunities to expand reach, improve interactivity and develop a hybrid learning approach. Darren (Clem) Craven, senior cyber security training lead for BT, will lead the session.

Both days of the conference will feature the Solutions Showcase. Attendees can explore the latest products and services offered by software and hardware companies. CompTIA Partners also have the opportunity to learn more about updates to CompTIA certification, learning products and services.
