Finalists announced for 2023 CompTIA North America Spotlight Awards

Annual awards recognize excellence and leadership in the tech industry

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Finalists for the 2023 CompTIA North America Spotlight Awards, which honor individuals for their commitment, dedication and leadership in advancing the technology industry, have been revealed by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the tech industry and workforce.

Award winners in six categories will be announced and recognized next week at the CompTIA Communities & Councils Forum in Chicago. For the first time winners will be feted at an awards reception and dinner.

The Future Leader Award is earned by an individual from a CompTIA Member organization who has demonstrated success or originality as an entrepreneur or industry professional in a start-up, emerging technology or technology solution focused organization. The 2023 finalists are:

Andrea Ayala, director, technology alliances, Gradient MSP
Alexander "Sandy" McGrath, operations manager, Final Frontiers
Steve Petryschuk, director, new product sales, Auvik Networks Inc.

The Advancing Women in Technology Leadership award is presented to a technology professional who is an active leader in the industry as well as in their personal network and community, serving as an advocate for women in technology and a role model for others. The 2023 finalists are:

Mitsuko Herrera, ultraMontgomery program director, Montgomery County, Md.
Alysia Vetter, vice president, marketing, The ASCII Group
Rebecca Woods, founder and virtual CIO, Bluebird Leaders

The Advancing Diversity in Technology Leadership award is earned by an individual who is an active leader in the technology industry as well as in their personal network and community as an advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB). Nominees for this award are change makers, transforming lives and organizations through a sustained commitment to DEIB values. The 2023 finalists are:

Dominique Andrews, chief people officer, Logically
Patti Key, chief revenue officer, TPx
Barbara Paluszkiewicz, CEO, CDN Technologies

The Community Leadership award recognizes a CompTIA Community member who has demonstrated outstanding commitment, leadership, passion and professionalism in their support for CompTIA community objectives and initiatives. Nominees embody the spirit and dedication required for CompTIA to successfully advance the IT Industry as a member-led association. The 2023 finalists are:

Bob Coppedge, CEO, Simplex-IT
Cynthia Mooney, global sales executive, HP Canada
Alex Spigel, co-founder and COO, Choice Cyber Solutions

The Cybersecurity Leadership award recognizes a CompTIA Community member who has demonstrated outstanding commitment, leadership, passion and professionalism in their support for the CompTIA ISAO Cyber Forum by engaging other members and in providing thought leadership around cybersecurity. The 2023 finalists are:

Bill Campbell, CEO, Balancelogic
Alex Spigel, co-founder and COO, Choice Cyber Solutions
Tracy Holtz, vice president, cloud solutions (Microsoft), TD SYNNEX

The Industry Advisory Council Leadership award recognizes a CompTIA Advisory Council member who has demonstrated outstanding service and commitment in support of our Council mission and objectives through their professionalism, leadership, subject matter expertise, and collaborative spirit. The 2023 finalists are:

Jill Klein, head of emerging tech and IoT, CDW
Amy Carr, senior director of marketing, Addigy
John Harden, senior product marketing manager, Auvik Networks Inc.

 A judging panel evaluated nominees for their positive impact on the tech industry; contributions that support CompTIA’s mission to advance the tech industry; and actions and initiatives that demonstrated leadership in their respective award category. Members of CompTIA's North America and United Kingdom and Ireland executive councils served as judges.
