Vocational education leader for the Sint Maarten community will add CompTIA IT courses to its curriculum in 2022
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., and CAY HILL, Sint Maarten – CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) industry and workforce, today welcomed the National Institute of Professional Advancement (NIPA) in Sint Maarten to its global Academic Partner Program.
A leading provider of vocational education for the Sint Maarten community, NIPA will add CompTIA classes in a range of IT disciplines to its curriculum beginning in 2022.
“NIPA has a well-deserved reputation as a leader in vocational and education training, making them an ideal partner for us,” said Leonard Wadewitz, CompTIA’s director for business development in Latin America and the Caribbean. “Together we will deliver highly relevant education and quality training opportunities, and champion the value of professional certifications, all with the ultimate goal of preparing students for careers in the IT field.”
NIPA is the only government-recognized institute for advanced vocational and technical education in Sint Maarten, offering advanced vocational education for students who want to further their education after secondary schools and adults already in the workforce.
“This partnership is intended to add value to our training offerings as well as cater to the needs of a globally dynamic career in IT for our stakeholders in Sint Maarten and the surrounding islands, in keeping with our institution’s vision,” said Deshaun David, director of business and stakeholder engagement ay NIPA. “We envision NIPA as a model of innovation, inclusiveness and excellence in professional vocational education, and recognized as an important pathway to rewarding careers in our country in the region and abroad.”
The CompTIA Academic Partner Program prepares students for work in the global digital economy. As a CompTIA partner NIPA has access to learning resources, eLearning courseware and hands-on labs related to fundamental digital skills, cybersecurity, technical support and other areas of technology. Students also have access to CompTIA’s skills certifications, professional credentials that validate an individual’s knowledge and ability to work in IT. NIPA instructors have opportunities for continuous training and teaching best-practices through CompTIA’s connected global network of educators and trainers.
