Washington, D.C. –The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the leading trade association for the global information technology industry, announced today that Jordan Kroll, Director, Public Sector at CompTIA, has been appointed to the 2022-2026 State Strategic Plan Advisory Committee by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR).
Kroll, who leads CompTIA’s State & Local Government and Education (SLED) Council, will represent the tech industry on the advisory board. The SLED Council includes technology companies of all sizes that work with state and local governments throughout the U.S. as well as public education institutions.
The agency’s mission is to serve Texas government by leading the state's technology strategy, protecting state technology infrastructure, and offering innovative and cost-effective solutions for all levels of government. DIR also provides statewide leadership and oversight for management of government information and communications technology.
“I’m honored to be selected to represent CompTIA and our dynamic member companies that work with government customers in Texas,” said Kroll. “The work technology companies of all sizes do in the public sector is vital to improving how government agencies deliver services to residents on a daily basis. I look forward to collaborating with state, local, and education officials, and others on the advisory board to promote the advancement innovation across Texas."
Other members of the State Strategic Plan Advisory Committee include several chief information officers from state agencies, representatives from local governments and higher education, and leaders from the business community.
