CompTIA Applauds USMCA as Historic Step for Digital Trade

Jan 29, 2020

Washington, D.C. – Today, CompTIA applauded the signing of legislation implementing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), and issued the following statement from Cinnamon Rogers, Executive Vice President of Advocacy, The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA):

“Today marks a historic moment for the technology industry as President Donald Trump signed the landmark U.S.-Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) into law. The new NAFTA includes robust digital trade and intellectual property chapters and will further cultivate America’s continued leadership in this significant sector. CompTIA applauds the hard work of the Administration and the bipartisan support of Congress to put America’s workers and jobs first by passing this agreement. We also encourage the U.S. government to include strong digital provisions in all future trade agreements as technology becomes ubiquitous across our society.”
