Policy Executive Board

The Policy Executive Board (PXB) is composed of senior leaders from CompTIA’s corporate members and enterprise associates who oversee and coordinate CompTIA's policy committees. The mission of the PXB will be to ensure all policy committees are aware of policy positions and initiatives, seek consensus for those positions, and provide guidance on the growth and direction of CompTIA advocacy activities.

MJ Shoer holds two executive roles with CompTIA, the leading non-profit trade association for the global technology industry and workforce. As Chief Community Officer his global community team is responsible for all aspects of community engagement, programming, cybersecurity programming, recruitment and retention for CompTIA’s 2,000 member organizations.

MJ is also CEO of CompTIA Spark, the social innovation and impact arm of CompTIA. He leads a team of professionals focused on bringing innovative learning opportunities to middle-school youth to inspire confidence and gain the skills necessary to explore whatever career they may choose. He believes that every business is a technology business and that inspiring future generations is critical for global economic prosperity and security.

As chief community officer MJ has increased CompTIA’s global presence, expanding its member-led communities into Ireland, the DACH region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, to ASEAN countries in Asia and soon, to Latin America. Under his direction CompTIA expanded its cybersecurity presence through the growth of the CompTIA Information Sharing and Analysis Organization; creation of the CompTIA Cybersecurity Trustmark, an organizational credential to help managed service providers (MSPs) and solution providers elevate their cybersecurity awareness and readiness; and formation of the CompTIA Emergency Response Team, dedicated volunteer members who provide rapid support and resources to assist any MSP impacted by a cybersecurity breach or business disruption event.

MJ has over three decades of experience in the IT industry. His is an engaging executive and well known for his engagement in the MSP and broader IT communities and his cybersecurity expertise. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. https://www.linkedin.com/in/mshoer/
