CompTIA is currently seeking Linux system administrators or similar IT professionals to participate in an Item Writing Workshop for our Linux+ Certification exam.
During the Item Writing workshop, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will create, develop, and review item content (questions) for the CompTIA Linux+ Certification exam.
Assistance from SMEs is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. To qualify, potential Linux+ SMEs must have:
- At least 5 years cumulative IT experience with at least 2 years of hands-on Linux systems administration.
- It is preferred that SMEs are Linux+, LPIC, or Red Hat certified, or have equivalent or higher credentials.
SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:
- An honorarium of $440 per day (or $2,200 total for the week*), pending adequate level of participation
- 40 continuing education credits (CEUs)
- Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments daily during the workshop
- A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice
- CompTIA SME digital badge for resume and social media
In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the entire workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.
*International SMEs will instead receive $540/day stipend ($2,700 total) to help defer additional travel costs.
