CompTIA Test Administrator Agreement

By submitting your application and maintaining your role as a CompTIA test administrator, you agree to the following terms and conditions governing your application to become, and your service as, an authorized Test Administrator ("Administrator") for CompTIA, Inc. ("CompTIA"). Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Approvals are granted on an as-needed basis at CompTIA's sole discretion.

  1. Compliance with Policies. You agree to review, become familiar with, and strictly adhere to all policies applicable to administering CompTIA tests, including policies related to security, candidate misconduct, retake requirements, and any other policies issued by CompTIA, as made available on the CompTIA website. CompTIA may update these policies from time to time, and your continued service as an Administrator constitutes acceptance of any such updates.
  2. Confidentiality. You acknowledge that maintaining the confidentiality of test questions and answers, exam topics, administrator passwords, and internal administration processes is vital to the integrity of CompTIA's certification program. You agree to keep all such information strictly confidential and will not disclose it to any person or entity unless compelled by law, in which case you will provide CompTIA with prompt written notice to the extent legally permitted prior to any such disclosure. You will not permit others to disclose such information and will immediately report any known or suspected unauthorized disclosure to CompTIA.
  3. Candidate Privacy. CompTIA maintains a privacy policy governing candidate personally identifiable information, including candidate names, contact information, score data, and government identification numbers. You will not use or disclose any such information to any third party for any reason except as expressly authorized by CompTIA in writing.
  4. Prohibited Uses of Information. You will not use or disclose any information obtained in your capacity as an Administrator for personal gain, or in connection with providing training, coaching, or consulting services related to CompTIA tests or test administration procedures.
  5. Conflicts of Interest. You agree to avoid all conflicts of interest in performing your responsibilities as an Administrator. A conflict of interest arises if: (a) you administer a test that you or a member of your family is taking; (b) a candidate is a close personal acquaintance, in which case the candidate must be referred to another Administrator; or (c) you accept any gift or monetary payment of any kind from a candidate or anyone acting on a candidate's behalf.
  6. Recertification. You agree to comply with recertification requirements as specified in the CompTIA Test Administrator Requirements and Guidelines Document.
  7. No Candidate Assistance. You will not assist candidates in any way in answering test questions or provide any accommodations that are not specifically authorized by CompTIA in writing.
  8. Check-In and Monitoring. You agree to follow all CompTIA procedures and policies for candidate check-in and in-exam monitoring. Failure to follow these procedures may result in the invalidation of candidate exams and your immediate termination as an Administrator.
  9. Reporting Obligations. You agree to immediately report to CompTIA any unusual or suspicious behavior by any testing candidate, coworker, or visitor in the testing area.
  10. Remedies. Adherence to this Agreement is essential to the integrity of the testing process, and any breach may cause harm to CompTIA, its certification program, and test candidates. The remedies stated in this Agreement are non-exclusive, and CompTIA reserves all rights and remedies available under applicable law.
  11. Term and Termination. This Agreement is effective upon your acceptance and continues until terminated by either party. Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time by providing notice to the other party. Sections of this Agreement that by their nature are intended to survive termination (including Sections 2, 3, 4, and 10) will survive termination for any reason.
  12. General.

(a) Governing Law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

(b) Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with the policies referenced in Section 1, constitutes the entire agreement between you and CompTIA regarding your service as an Administrator and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements on the subject.

(c) Amendments. CompTIA may modify this Agreement at any time by posting the revised terms on its portal or website. Your continued service as an Administrator after any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

(d) Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

(e) Electronic Agreement. You consent to entering into this Agreement electronically. Your acceptance through the CompTIA portal has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
