CompTIA’s International Technology Adoption and Workforce Trends Study shows consistency across most of the 12 nations and regions polled in it; in the belief that the biggest trends in IT employment will be data security and storage. However, there is a similar across-the-board gap in the level of training employers believe their staff should reach and where staff actually stands. The U.S. has the narrowest gap, but with only a 66 percent confidence in being at or close to desired levels in skills training.
Current job growth is about where CompTIA anticipated in its prior study; modest and uneven, but overall a positive trend. Concerns over security, training and access will define the tech industry’s near future.
Finally, several markets indicate a lack of confidence in their ability to acquire new technology. Citing issues like competition suppression, security and expense, the majority of those polled claim lack of full access to what they want to buy.
