Nominations Sought for CompTIA 2020 UK Spotlight Awards

Tech industry innovators, leaders and role models will be recognized at leading association

London – CompTIA, the leading nonprofit association for the global technology industry, announced today that it is accepting nominations for its 2020 Spotlight Awards, honoring excellence and leadership in the United Kingdom’s technology sector.

“The UK technology community has always been characterized by its caring, resilience, strength and vibrancy,” said Nancy Hammervik, CompTIA’s executive vice president for industry relations. “These traits have taken on even greater meaning and relevance during these unprecedented days. CompTIA is proud to honour the women, men and organizations who make our industry great.”

Special consideration will be given to 2020 nominees who have demonstrated leadership in their community or organization during the COVID-19 crisis or are impacting social change.

CompTIA UK Spotlight Awards will be presented in seven categories.

The UK Solution Provider of the Year award recognises a company involved in the business of technology that has demonstrated leadership, excellence and innovation towards its clients and those in its organization. Any solution provider operating in the UK technology sector is eligible.

The UK Innovative Vendor of the Year award is presented to a technology vendor that has produced an innovation or innovative approach to transform their organisation, a client’s business or the wider industry.

The UK Innovative Distributor of the Year award goes to a technology distributor that has established an innovation or innovative approach to transform their organisation, a client’s business or the wider industry.

The UK Community Organisation of the Year award honours a CompTIA Corporate Member company that, in the prior year, has demonstrated outstanding collective service and impact through its engagement, commitment, passion and leadership in assisting CompTIA as it advances the tech industry.

The UK Community Champion of the Year award is presented to an individual from a CompTIA Corporate Member organisation who, in the past year, has demonstrated outstanding service and impact through his or her commitment, passion, professionalism and leadership in assisting CompTIA as it advances the tech industry.

A young professional who is making their mark early in their career within a CompTIA Corporate Member will be recognized with the UK ChannelChanger award. This award recognises an individual who has shown success or originality as an entrepreneur or has made an industry impact in some other demonstrable way. Nominees should have a minimum two years of industry experience and must be 35 years old or younger.

The 2020 UK Leading Woman in Technology Award honours someone who is an active leader in the technology industry and her personal community by advocating for women in technology, serving as a role model for others and by making significant contributions to the industry and positive impacts on individuals and organisations she works with.

Nominations will be accepted through 31 July 2020. Award winners will be recognized during CompTIA EMEACon Online this fall.
