Dan Scott

Quality and Project Manager
Complete I.T.

First and foremost, I love solving business challenges through the use of technology and helping businesses grow and exceed their goals by using technology effectively.

The technology itself is only a small part of the story, you can't effect business transformation by just having buying the latest and greatest. As Lee Cockerell, former EVP of Operations for the Walt Disney World Resort famously says "It's not the magic that makes it work, it's the way we work that makes it magic" and I couldn't agree with him more. Technology alone doesn't bring business success, it's really about understanding the business need or opportunity, careful planning, structured implementation, training, and embedding.

More than anything, in order to allow technology to bring about real business benefit and change, I believe you have to be passionate for the outcome and commit to the 'why' behind the change, not just 'what' the change is. Nobody woke up 'wanting a CRM', they wanted to track, measure and then improve their customer engagement, so later decided a CRM would help them achieve those goals - very different ways to arrive at the same end.

Throughout my career I have learned to always challenge myself and embrace new ideas, skills and ways of working. Starting in technical hands-on roles, moving to project management, team management & leadership, software implementation, data reporting & analysis, product development & portfolio strategy, I am always eager to learn and teach others.

I believe that great customer service is the key to differentiate a business from its competition - no-one remembers what you did, they remember how you made them feel. Treat people the way you would like to be treated, expect great things from those on your team and give your all. Make a difference - nothing else matters.

Daniel Welling

Welling MSP LTD

Daniel started his career in IT in 1995, following a sales track, working for a number of VARs and quickly developing a consultative approach to new business and account management, leading to Sales Management within a few years. The urge to do more resulted in forming an IT support business (what today we call an MSP!) in 2002 which developed over the following 12-years with the obligatory highs, lows and lessons learned. In 2014 the opportunity arose to exit the business in a trade sale, allowing Daniel to pursue his non-IT interests, which have included further highs, lows and lessons in the fields of motorsport and soft drinks, whilst remaining involved with the MSP market through being an active member of MSP communities, taking a part time role with the acquirer of his business and growing a base of other MSPs with whom he has worked in the blended-capacity of mentor, consultant, NED and devils advocate. In 2019, Daniel co-rebooted the London SBSC monthly meet up for MSPs whilst continuing participation in groups such as CompTIA.
