Martin Bannister is a cybersecurity specialist and is the Managing Director and founder of Kogo®. He has been running Kogo® for almost 2 decades, and still finds time in his busy day to provide personal support to clients. He is a skilled speaker, and has given a number of seminars and workshops on cybersecurity and IT threat awareness. When he’s not hard at work, Martin writes about cybersecurity, and his articles have been published in many local publications including Sussex Business Edge and Gatwick Diamond’s “The Source”.

Clem Craven

Clem Craven is the Senior Cyber Security Training Lead in Protect BT (PBT), which is a specialist team within BT Security. He leads the training team within the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), which is responsible for teaching cybersecurity teams, both technical and non-technical elements to protect BT from the myriad of threats. Over the past 3 years, he has helped redesign the strategy, process and direction of cyber training in BT Security, an area that has over 2600 people and is growing.  He introduced the Cyber Awareness courses, which have been designed and are delivered in house, as well as the CompTIA cyber road map. This is so all teams, technical and non-technical within PBT and the commercial parts of BT Security, are baselined and able to progress to more specialised skills.

He is the SME with regards to training and certifications for contracts that BT security engages with. Provides guidance and direction with career learning paths and consultancy, on what is needed for the numerous cybersecurity teams and projects that BT has both internally and commercially.  Ensuring that what is delivered is industry recognised and exactly what the business needs.  He constantly reviews the courses to meet the needs of the future, not the past.  Responsible for the training paths of over 80 people who make up PBT and an SME advisor to the other areas of BT security. This is to ensure that each individual and team has a clear direction and path with regards to the skills and qualifications needed.  Within the commercial space, He provides the training capability and consultancy for the myriad of systems and solutions that BT deploys.

He comes from an extensive policing and military background being an ex-serving member of the Royal Air Force Police with over 29 years of experience.  22 years of which were as a police officer and as a Counter Intelligence specialist.  His roles encompassed being a specialist in Physical Security, Personnel Security, Information Assurance, Document Security, Counter-Espionage, Counter-Terrorism, Counter Subversion and Cyber Security.  He has carried out these duties wherever HM forces have been involved and deployed around the world.

Felix Ekman

Felix Ekman is a strategic-minded marketing professional, who, in a short time, has built a reputation as a talented leader in the SaaS and ISV space. Felix is Head of Marketing for Harmony PSA, a software solution for independent software vendors (ISVs) and managed service providers (MSPs). He began his career at Avector, an independent software vendor that creates bespoke software for companies such as Volvo as well as larger platforms. While in this position, Felix honed his ability to turn lead funnels on their heads, by developing and implementing new marketing automation platforms designed to transition traditional outbound marketing to inbound marketing.

 

He also began developing content creation strategies and partner programs from their inception, while working with external agencies maximize impact and reach. His work with resellers, in particular, focuses as much on helping them improve their own marketing programs as it does on growing the sales of his company’s products.

While his secondary education originated in very traditional economic subjects, Felix leveraged his interest in psychology and marketing to earn an MSc in Business and Economics: International Marketing and Brand Management.  His thesis, which was nominated for several awards, focused on how startups can leverage different marketing and branding structures to maximize their IPO return.

The technology itself is only a small part of the story, you can't effect business transformation by just having buying the latest and greatest. As Lee Cockerell, former EVP of Operations for the Walt Disney World Resort famously says "It's not the magic that makes it work, it's the way we work that makes it magic" and I couldn't agree with him more. Technology alone doesn't bring business success, it's really about understanding the business need or opportunity, careful planning, structured implementation, training, and embedding.

More than anything, in order to allow technology to bring about real business benefit and change, I believe you have to be passionate for the outcome and commit to the 'why' behind the change, not just 'what' the change is. Nobody woke up 'wanting a CRM', they wanted to track, measure and then improve their customer engagement, so later decided a CRM would help them achieve those goals - very different ways to arrive at the same end.

Throughout my career I have learned to always challenge myself and embrace new ideas, skills and ways of working. Cristian Zaharia

I started my Cyber Security career 11th years ago when I began to work as a police investigator for Romanian Counter-CyberCrime Department. For 7 years I had to deal with hundreds of different cyber crime cases: POS data exfiltration, scams, unauthorized access and many others.

In 2015 I moved to Dell-Secureworks as Information Security Analyst, being the team-lead for a SOC unit. From this role I performed incident handling duties, including event discovery, alert notification, investigation, containment support, resolution support and event reporting.

In 2017 I accepted a management role, leading numerous cross-functional project teams simultaneously and e nsuring a seamless delivery of all security services proposed to the clients.
