How to earn and receive your CEUs
Teach or mentor
You can earn one CEU for each hour of teaching or mentoring. Follow these requirements to earn and receive CEUs:

Timing: All teaching or mentoring must be completed during your three-year renewal cycle. You can only submit teaching on the same content once during that period.

Relevance: At least 50% of the course content must relate to one or more of the exam objectives for the certification you’re renewing. It is important to keep in mind that CompTIA does not only look at content “topics” to determine whether a course relates to exam objectives. There are other variables, including the cognitive level of course content, that are taken into account during our internal review. *

Documentation: Submit the completed activity, including the following information:

Teaching

Lesson plan or syllabus with your name as the instructor.

Description of the content covered.

Date the course was taught.

Mentoring
-
Content objectives as they relate to the CompTIA exam being renewed.

Description of the content covered.
-
Dates and length of time mentoring occurred.

Signed document from mentee that mentor dates and times are valid.

Create instructional materials
You can earn two CEUs for each hour of materials creation. Follow these requirements to earn and receive CEUs:

Timing: You must create the instructional materials during your three-year renewal cycle. The same materials can only be submitted once.

Relevance: At least 50% of the course content must relate to one or more of the exam objectives for the certification you’re renewing. It is important to keep in mind that CompTIA does not only look at content “topics” to determine whether a course relates to exam objectives. There are other variables, including the cognitive level of course content, that are taken into account during our internal review.*

You can earn one CEU for each workshop hour that you participate as a CompTIA Subject Matter Expert. Follow these requirements to earn and receive CEUs:

Timing: You must complete the workshop during your three-year renewal cycle.

Relevance: The workshop you are attending must correspond to the certification you are renewing.

Documentation: Submit a signed letter from the CompTIA workshop coordinator confirming your successful participation.
