CompTIA publishes draft exam objectives to inform the public about the proposed objectives for new and updated certification exams. When the exam development process is complete, the draft exam objectives on this page will be removed and the final versions will be posted on the CompTIA Exam Objectives page.
Draft exam objectives
Current draft exam objectives:
Draft exam objectives are published after the job task analysis (JTA) process. They reflect the proposed content for an upcoming exam but may contain minor issues, such as typographical errors, acronym inconsistencies, or unclear wording.
Drafts are updated periodically as we correct issues and refine the content. Multiple versions may be posted before the launch of the new exam. We encourage you to:
- Check back regularly for the latest draft version.
- Use the Draft Exam Objectives Feedback Form below to report potential corrections or improvements to the objectives.
When submitting feedback, please:
- Identify the exam name and version (for example, “CompTIA Security+ V8, Draft 1.1”).
- Specify the exact location of the issue (domain, objective number, and bullet or sub bullet, if applicable).
- Describe what is incorrect, unclear, or outdated, and, if possible, suggest updated wording or a correction.
Use the feedback form specifically for comments about the exam objectives content, such as:
- Errors in facts, terminology, or technologies
- Outdated or deprecated technologies or practices
- Ambiguous, confusing, or redundant information
- Objectives that appear miscategorized or misnumbered
