Thanks to all the great folks engaged with Comp- TIA, we have been growing, not only in member- ship and certified alumni, but also in the number of programs and initiatives we offer and are working on. We hope this magazine will keep you informed and connected – and spark some good conversation and idea-sharing. Published twice a year, we will reach about one million contacts in the CompTIA database. We will be highlighting key activities across the association and around the globe, and putting a spotlight on members who are leveraging CompTIA to make a difference in their corner of the world. On the cover of our first issue – Members on the Leading Edge – is our 2016 Member of the Year, Tracy Pound of MaximITy. Take a moment to read about Tracy’s journey and her engagement with CompTIA. Tracy was recently recognized by PCR, a leading UK channel publication, as Woman of the Year and now as 2016 Member of the Year for CompTIA. This issue of CompTIAWorld introduces you to several other members including David Beering of Intelligent Designs, who positioned satellites over the North and South Poles to facilitate new transportation routes created by global warming, and Mike Brooman, who executed cutting-edge, fully integrated smart building technology for a multi-billion-dollar company in London.
