As vice president of channel strategies for CompTIA, Annette Taber created and oversees the association’s Partner, Vendor and Telecom Advisory Councils. On the councils are 60 of the IT industry’s leading channel chiefs and C-suite executives, representing the entire IT ecosystem. Taber has more than 20 years of IT channel experience with the bulk of that garnered at Tech Data.
She started in the IT channel at the ground level as a sales representative at Tech Data in 1991, later moving to launch their systems engineering department and growing it to a force of 70 employees to support 75,000 customers. In 2000, she took over Tech Data’s national SMB sales division and grew it to handle $1 billion in annual sales. Two years later, she revamped the company’s key marketing program, Tech Select, and grew it to 450-member community. After leaving Tech Data in 2008, she was the vice president of sales and marketing for Interlink and the vice president of business development for Network Dynamics Inc.
