The path of Arlin Sorensen’s career begins on the family farm near Harlan, Iowa. Arlin graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Farm Operations, and in 1977 began farming. In 1982, Arlin purchased his first computer (an Apple II+) for use in his operation and the farm boy was permanently smitten by the technology bug.
In 1990 Arlin and his brother Brad formed Sorensen’s Computer Connection, Inc. (SCCI). That grew to become Heartland Technology Solutions (HTS), an MSP with over 100 employees, before it was sold at the end of 2012.
In 1995 he started a precision agriculture company focused on GPS technologies for production agriculture that today goes by the name of HTS Ag.
In 2000, he formed HTG Peer Groups (HTG), a vibrant community of IT solution providers. HTG is now comprised of more than 500 member companies throughout the North America, APAC, and EMEA.
When he is not traveling to speak and consult, Arlin loves to be home on his farm in Iowa with his wife Nancy. He is a proud “Pop” to their four grandchildren who remind him why he is intentionally living so as to leave a strong legacy of faith and integrity.
