Linux+ Experts Needed

CompTIA is currently seeking Linux system administrators or similar IT professionals to participate in a Job Task Analysis Workshop for our Linux+ Certification exam.

The Job Task Analysis (JTA) is the phase of exam development used to identify areas of competence required for an exam, and to ensure that the examination objectives are relevant to job roles and activities for the target audience.

Assistance from SMEs is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. To qualify, potential Linux+ SMEs must have:

  • At least 5 years cumulative IT experience with at least 2 years of hands-on Linux systems administration.
  • It is preferred that SMEs are Linux+, LPIC, or Red Hat certified, or have equivalent or higher credentials.

SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:

  • An honorarium of $200 per day (or $1,000 total for the week), pending adequate level of participation
  • 40 continuing education credits (CEUs)
  • A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice

In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in Item Writing workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.

When: May 3 – 7, 2021
Where: Virtual

Only Linux system administrators or similar IT professionals should apply. Although CompTIA appreciates interest from the training community, applications from trainers, authors, or individuals who may profit or materially benefit from knowledge of the CompTIA credential content are not eligible to participate.
