Coding Experts and Instructors Needed

CompTIA is currently looking for coding professionals, instructors, and those responsible for internal staff training to participate in an Item Writing workshop for a coding foundations certification exam.

The purpose of this Item Writing workshop is to create and review item content (questions) for the coding foundations certification exam.

Assistance from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. To qualify, potential SMEs must be technical experts with experience writing code or acting as software developers, and/or secondary or post-secondary educators (entry-level) teaching coding, or programming/coding languages. SMEs must have 3 or more years of experience in at least one of the following categories: writing code, software development, Python, JavaScript, Java, Github, using SDLC framework.

SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:

  • An honorarium of $200 per day (or $1,000 total for the week), pending adequate level of participation
  • 40 continuing education units (CEUs)
  • A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice

In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the entire item writing workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.

When: June 6-10, 2022
Where: Virtual workshop

Only professionals working in one of the fields above should apply. Please note that while CompTIA is recruiting those with a background in teaching/training, we will exclude those training towards CompTIA certifications and those who may profit or materially benefit from knowledge of the CompTIA credential content are not eligible to participate.
