Cybersecurity Experts and Instructors Needed

CompTIA is currently looking for cybersecurity professionals, instructors, and those responsible for internal staff training to participate in a Cut Score workshop for a cybersecurity foundations certification exam.

During the Cut Score workshop, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will determine and set the passing standard for the certification exam, and will create, develop, and review items for the cybersecurity foundations exam.

Assistance from SMEs is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. To qualify, SMEs must have 3-5 years of experience working in one or more of the following roles: IT security practitioners (especially those involved in internal staff training initiatives), IT security instructors (secondary or post-secondary instructors teaching entry level courses), and those involved in workforce development programs.

SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:

  • An honorarium of $200 per day (or $800 total for the week), pending adequate level of participation
  • 32 continuing education units (CEUs)
  • A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice

In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the entire Cut Score workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.

When: August 15-18, 2022
Where: Virtual workshop

Only professionals working in one of the fields above should apply. Please note that while CompTIA is recruiting those with a background in teaching/training, we will exclude those training towards CompTIA certifications and those who may profit or materially benefit from knowledge of the CompTIA credential content are not eligible to participate.
