- Washington’s tech industry constitutes 12% of Washington’s total economy with 210,800 tech workers earning an average wage that was over 125 percent more than the state’s average private sector worker.
- Idaho had the 2nd highest wage differential in the nation, with tech workers earning nearly 130 percent more, $84,100 compared to the statewide average wage of $36,600.
- Colorado had the 3rd highest concentration of tech workers in the nation, with 9.2 percent of its private sector in tech.
- California led the nation in tech employment, with 1.1 million workers, accounting for 8.1 percent of its private sector workforce.
