U.S. West

CompTIA’s U.S. West region is home to some of the most iconic and influential U.S. tech companies. The region covers Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Some key U.S. West figures from the CompTIA Cyberstates Report:

  • Washington’s tech industry constitutes 12% of Washington’s total economy with 210,800 tech workers earning an average wage that was over 125 percent more than the state’s average private sector worker.
  • Idaho had the 2nd highest wage differential in the nation, with tech workers earning nearly 130 percent more, $84,100 compared to the statewide average wage of $36,600.
  • Colorado had the 3rd highest concentration of tech workers in the nation, with 9.2 percent of its private sector in tech.
  • California led the nation in tech employment, with 1.1 million workers, accounting for 8.1 percent of its private sector workforce.
