Cybersecurity

The Cybersecurity Committee focuses on the development of policies and initiatives designed to improve the security of the nation's critical information infrastructure through cooperation and outreach among industry and government. Whether the challenge is mobilizing collaboration within the private sector toward practical information security solutions, engaging government leadership on critical information security concerns, influencing public policy, promoting cyber security R&D, or building the talent base globally, this committee is at the forefront of the information security dialogue.

Specifically, the Committee advocates for the development of a national cybersecurity strategy and focuses on a wide variety of policy issues including, but not limited to: Critical Infrastructure management, Information Sharing, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Education and Awareness, and International Cybersecurity Issues.

In addition, the committee analyzes legislative and regulatory proposals, responds to requests from Congress and the administration, provides testimony for relevant tax issues and presents CompTIA Membership with networking opportunities with key decision makers.
