Feb 6, 2019

The world’s leading tech industry association is helping businesses thrive in a time of unprecedented change

Amsterdam 2019 - CompTIA, the world’s leading technology industry association, reveals its plans for an open, vendor-neutral community, focused squarely on the needs of the Benelux region.

The community will help businesses thrive in a time where change happens at lightspeed. For this initial meeting - taking place today as part of ISE 2019 (Integrated Systems Europe) - industry thought leaders are invited to join the conversation and help shape plans for 2019.

Rapid industry growth is fuelled by innovative business solutions leveraging the latest emerging technologies, such as smart cities/buildings, SaaS, blockchain, cybersecurity, along with new business models and a strong entrepreneurial culture. With the new community, CompTIA will offer these businesses support and advice.

Jeroen den Haan, Senior Sales Manager EMEA at SolarWinds MSP, commented: “We know the value of CompTIA from our corporate involvement in the USA, the UK and Australia. We think it will be a welcome addition to the local market. Working with managed services providers, we believe CompTIA knows our business area and can provide real service to the local industry."

Robert Rosier, CEO at TPEX International BV, added: “In an expanding area like smart buildings where everything is moving to a Building IP backbone, our experience in high-end video conferencing lets us move into Smart Building Operations, Deep Learning Video Content Analysis and Surveillance. This is new ground and we are excited to join in with CompTIA for mutual interest in how IT is tackling these new areas.”

George van Brugge – CEO van Portland, said: "Portland is a Value Add Distributor with a strong focus on MSP's in the Benelux. We have helped over a thousand traditional IT resellers to become a Managed Service Provider. As a CompTIA ambassador, Portland is now able to add decades of experience and a wealth of IT industry knowledge and pass this on to the MSPs. We honestly believe being involved in CompTIA, all parties will benefit tremendously."

CompTIA’s mission - as the global trade organization – is to strengthen and advance the IT industry by helping business grow and helping to build a skilled tech workforce. Their members span the industry from Fortune 500 companies, such as Microsoft, Apple, and Google, to the many small tech service providers that support the implementation and management of technology. CompTIA’s member-led Communities form the building blocks of their industry-focused initiatives, education, research and programs. This new community will engage business and thought leaders in the Benelux region to solve common industry problems and have a positive impact on the industry.

Nancy Hammervik, Executive Vice President, Industry Relations at CompTIA, said: “This is a great opportunity for all tech-based organizations to be part of an exciting new peer community for the Benelux region.  As a member led and run organization, we look forward to working with tech professionals in the region to shape the future of our industry”
