CompTIA’s Space Enterprise Council at the Center of Initial Discussions on US and Brazil Space Cooperation

A few months ago, the SEC was approached about being the US conduit for a US space company delegation to Brazil. The delegation would participate in high level meetings with both Brazilian space companies and government officials. My counterpart in Brazil Reeve Wolford and I have met with both Department of State officials and Trump Administration lead for Western Hemisphere issues Landon Loomis on the concept and all parties have been supportive.

Reeve and I held a conference call last week with SEC membership.  Brazil was represented by former US Ambassador to Brazil  Rubens Antonio Barbosa and Air Force Colonel  Eduardo Almeida.  Participating companies included Boeing (led by Ambassador Donna Hrinak/Head of Boeing Latin America), Viasat, Harris Corporation, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and SEC prospect Raytheon.  Reeve and I will now be reaching out to each SEC member company individually to asset their further interest in the meetings.

The Cooperation concept can be found here.

The proposed meeting agenda can be found here.
