FCC: Process and Transparency Hearing

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a hearing today entitled "FCC: Process and Transparency". This hearing follows in the footsteps of the FCC's historic ruling and subsequent release of their controversial open internet ruling.

Chairman Tom Wheeler took the stand at today's hearing to explain the process in which the Commission went through in proposing these regulations, taking public comments and ultimately passing the new rules. Chairman Wheeler's entire opening remarks are available here.

Many members of the majority party strongly questioned the FCC Chairman on the administration's involvement in their ultimate decision to classify broadband access under Title II of the Telecommunications Act of 1934.
