CompTIA Board of Directors

Jim Afdahl is currently Vice President, Business Services and State Relationship Manager for the GED Testing Service (GEDTS), after serving that organization as Vice President and CFO for several years. GED Testing Service is a recently-formed partnership between the education company Pearson and the American Council on Education, which had begun the GED program in the 1940’s.

Jim is also a board member of Creating IT Futures and the Minnesota Literacy Council, and recently completed his term as Treasurer of the Board of Minnesota High Tech Foundation. Jim’s previous finance positions include EMC Publishing, NCS Pearson and Cenex (CHS Cooperatives). While his background is Finance, Jim has served in several IT capacities with his employers. After graduating from Luther College with a B.A. in Accounting, Jim began his career with the PwC. Jim tries to live by the motto of his employer which is “Always Learning.”
