ECTF Work Areas: Application Interoperability
The application interoperability work area is concerned with defining
effective interoperation of computer telephony applications developed
by different vendors and installed on one or more systems on a network.
While the
initial focus is directed toward applications based on S.100,
this work area covers all aspects of CT application interoperability.
Goals for work in this area include categorizing application types and
their information exchange needs; identifying S.100 APIs which facilitate
application interoperability; and publishing a schema of relevant information
types to faciliatte data sharing between computer telephony applications.
Work in this area will be coordinated with the Media Services work area
to ensure that enhancements and/or elaborations to specific portions of
the S.100 specification will facilitate application interoperability.

(Application Interoperability Model)
The ECTF Application Interoperability Framework allows computer telephony
applications to cooperate and interoperate. This document outlines the objectives
and means to achieve low cost of CT application ownership and defines the
architecture and the set of interfaces that achieve these goals.
