Champion the SMB Tech Entrepreneur

Small and medium-sized businesses are the lifeblood of the national economy. SMBs employ over 50 percent of the country’s private sector workforce and hire 43 percent of high-tech workers, such as scientists, engineers and computer workers. Yet, when national policy is debated, the interests of SMBs are not always understood. The voice of the tech SMB needs to be heard in Washington, D.C.

We support:
  • Advancing greater access to capital
  • A tax code that is fair for information technology SMBs
  • Extending the payroll tax reduction to small businesses
  • Introducing legislation to extend annual payroll tax reporting to all small businesses
  • Re-instating the 2011 Section 179 small business expensing limits
  • Simplicity and fairness in interstate taxation legislation
  • A small business exemption within remote sellers legislation
  • The Digital Goods and Services Tax Fairness Act of 2011
  • The Business Activity Tax Simplification Act of 2011
  • Extending equity to the Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract program by eliminating the requirement that “two or more” women-owned businesses submit bids in order to invoke the program
