Supporting SMB Tech Entrepreneurs

Small- and medium-size businesses are the lifeblood of the national economy. SMBs employ more than 50 percent of the country's private sector workforce; and they hire 40 percent of high-tech workers, such as scientists, engineers and computer workers.

Yet, too often, when national policy is debated the interests of SMBs are ignored or misunderstood. We are dedicated to ensuring that the voice of the tech SMB is heard in Washington, D.C.

We:

  • Advocate for rational and fair tax policies that promote innovation and jobs
  • Promote access to capital for SMBs to advance business start-ups and expansion
  • Equip the tech SMB with the capacity to capitalize on the transition to electronic records (medical, financial and other)
  • Advocate that regulations implementing healthcare reform provide opportunities for cost savings and ease administrative burdens on small- and medium-size businesses
  • Make government procurement rules fair, transparent and accessible to tech SMBs
  • Ensure fairness in patent reform and IPR more generally
  • Promote policies that allow for expansion of SMB tech exports
  • Advocate for human resources legislation that make sense for the tech SMB
