Education tracks planned on Training & Certification, Learning & Development and IT Channel
London, 29 August 2012—CompTIA, the non-profit association for the information technology (IT) industry, today unveiled a power-packed agenda for its EMEA Member & Partner Conference 2012, the annual gathering of IT channel executives and certification partners from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
This year’s conference is scheduled for 23 October 2012 at the Lancaster London. The conference – open to CompTIA members and partners, as well as non-members of the association – will feature an array of speakers, panels and information sessions. Highlights of the conference include:
- A Learning & Development track featuring a presentation on custom certifications by Bryan Kainrath, vice president, skills certification operations, CompTIA; and a panel discussion on security with Security Minister, Baroness Neville Jones.
- A “wild card” quick start session on unified communications, managed services or mobility. Conference attendees have the opportunity to decide exactly which program gets added to the agenda by casting their votes.
- A Solution Provider panel featuring MJ Shoer, founder, president and virtual chief technology officer of Jenaly Technology Group; Don Bentz, co-founder of Preferred IT Group; and Nancy Hammervik, senior vice president, industry relations, CompTIA.
- Training & Certification sessions on what’s new in technology, delivered by tech guru Mike Meyers, president of Total Seminars, LLC; and a funding and apprenticeship session on the Education Funding Agency and upcoming changes to the Skills Funding Agency.
Top manufacturers, distributors, and educational providers will also highlight their newest products, services and solutions in the Vendor Exhibit Hall.
In conjunction with the CompTIA EMEA Member & Partner Conference, the CompTIA UK Channel Community will meet on 22 October. The group includes technology resellers, distributors, and vendors who come together to focus on developing best practices, business education and resources for companies engaged in the delivery of IT services in the UK.
The community meeting will feature a solution provider member focus presentation from independent IT business consultant Richard Tubb; a vendor/distributor member focus presentation from Jason Hibbs of ETC; and a CompTIA Quick Start Session on Social Media.
