CompTIA Announces Board of Directors for 2011

Autotask founder Bob Godgart is new chairman

Downers Grove, Ill., January 12, 2011 – An award-winning software entrepreneur, businessman and champion for the information technology (IT) industry channel is the new chairman of the board of directors of CompTIA, the leading non-profit trade association for the IT industry announced today.

Bob Godgart, chairman and chief visionary officer of Autotask Corporation, was selected as chairman in balloting by CompTIA members. He served previously as vice chairman of the CompTIA board.

An early and successful pioneer of the software-as-a-service business model, Godgart leveraged his expertise to launch Autotask, provider of the world's leading hosted IT business management software built specifically for technology solution provider companies. Godgart is a well-known advocate, leader and visionary for the IT channel. He’s a frequent speaker at industry events and a sought-after source for journalists covering the IT industry. In 2010 he was named a “Channel Chief” by the respected IT industry publication CRN.

Godgart succeeds Bob O’Malley, chief executive officer of InFocus® Corporation, as chairman of the CompTIA board. O’Malley served two years as chairman and remains on the board as immediate past chair.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have a board that represents the full spectrum of the IT channel,” said Todd Thibodeaux, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA. “Though they’re all involved in the day-to-day business of IT, each board member offers a unique perspective on the issues our industry faces and the solutions to address them. This diversity assures that the programs we develop, the initiatives we support and the positions we champion will have strong support across the industry.”

"With all of the change going on in the channel, it is more important than ever for CompTIA to provide visionary leadership for our members and the global IT community,” Godgart said. “We have assembled a tremendous board and leadership team at CompTIA, and I am honored to chair the organization as we take on this challenge.”

CompTIA members also selected two vice chairs for the 2011 board.

Chuck Lennon is president of TeamLogic IT®, a nationwide network of computer consultation and managed services businesses. Under Lennon’s leadership, TeamLogic IT has grown to more than 60 franchise locations and is a Franchise 50 Award winner, a distinction given to franchisors that receive high owner satisfaction ratings. Earlier in his career Lennon held executive positions with Sir Speedy, Inc. and New Horizons Computer Learning Centers.

Also serving as vice chairman is Robert Stegner, senior vice president, marketing, North America, SYNNEX Corporation, a leading business process services company servicing technology resellers and original equipment manufacturers around the world.
