Global Mentoring Solutions Donates 24/7 IT Tutoring for Creating Futures Participants
Individuals in Need Receive Free Training to Launch IT Careers from the CompTIA Educational Foundation
Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., April 29, 2010 - Global Mentoring Solutions (GMS) is donating access to LiveTutor PRO™ to the CompTIA Educational Foundation’s Creating Futures participants while studying for their information technology (IT) training online.
GMS provides 24/7 mentoring to help students anytime with their questions to get them through their training. This is the third year that GMS has supported the Creating Futures participants.
The Foundation’s Creating Futures program provides career opportunities to groups of people historically under-represented in the IT industry, including military veterans, individuals with disabilities, minorities, women, at-risk youth and dislocated workers. Online IT training, mentoring, courseware, practice exams, and certification vouchers are provided at no cost to these individuals. Participants train toward CompTIA and other IT certifications to break into the IT field.
With direct, on-demand access to GMS' certified experts via chat, phone, and multimedia, participants get instant help with topics and tasks through live demonstration, collaborative learning and step-by-step instruction. GMS LiveTutor PRO also automates the cumbersome process required to track, confirm and document that individuals' training requirements are met.
“With our LiveTutor PRO, we aim to make the Creating Futures participants as successful in their training as possible. The sooner they can master IT concepts, the sooner they can achieve certification and launch their IT careers,” said Cindy Perks, COO, Global Mentoring Solutions. “Our partnership with Creating Futures is a perfect fit, and we encourage more companies to step forward and help individuals in need reset their career paths and join our robust industry.”
“In-kind donations such as this allow us to keep moving to our goal to train 1,000 individuals in need by year’s end,” said John Venator, president and CEO of the CompTIA Educational Foundation. “Every gift counts and helps another worthy individual to gain a solid career in our industry.”
Individuals and companies can make a donation and prospective participants can apply for training by visiting the CompTIA Educational Foundation website, http://www.CompTIA-EF.org.
