The Sequestration Threat

CompTIA believes that the looming budget cuts known as sequestration expected on March 1 will be a huge issue for all Americans, particularly tech entrepreneurs. We believe the largest impact will be on those small businesses who sell goods and services to the federal government.

Furthermore, the fall-out from sequestration will cause major trauma for our economy and our tech entrepreneurs.

So, as Congress and the Administration move to grapple with budget cuts, we call upon policymakers to continue to protect the interests of small tech firms and entrepreneurs, which create jobs, keep our nation competitive and build the critical technology infrastructure for our economy.

We ask Congress to take reasonable steps to avoid sequestration. We outline in this white paper how small- to medium-sized firms could be impacted.

Assuming the sequestration cuts go into law as expected on March 1, we want to know how you, our members, will be affected by them?

Hogwash. The sequestration is a reduction of future spending, and all this hype is nothing more than ObamaDrama. The total of 85GBucks is only a drop in the ocean of the TeraBucks that government is already spending. If Washington was really worried about all this money, why are they giving 250GBucks to Egypt? Cut some pork out of government. Lana: Forget it! It's an Obama- induced panic, we get one every month.
