The CompTIA Healthcare IT Community addresses the challenges and opportunities in the creation, delivery and service of healthcare-related technologies. This community is focused on creating standards, best practices and educational resources for IT businesses developing a healthcare solutions practice. EMR (electronic medical records), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and public policy initiatives are key focus areas for this group.

  • Create a Healthcare IT guide / blueprint detailing system design and installation best practices
  • Provide an overview of federal and state public policy opportunities
  • Develop a solution training track specific to Healthcare IT
  • Create a medical practice operations education track for IT providers to differentiate IT installations and projects in healthcare from those in other verticals
  • Assess the need for a Healthcare IT glossary of acronyms and terms

Healthcare ITCommunity Staff Leader

Robert Bergquist is the director of member communities, overseeing the IT Security and Healthcare IT Communities.

He is an energetic association executive with more than 14 years of international experience in creating professional development and education programs, managing certification programs, facilitating volunteers, developing strategic plans, and implementing best practices to achieve maximum value for the organization, and to encourage personal and professional growth and development for members. He has been involved with all aspects of association management and governance. His strengths include association management and governance, strategic organizational planning, situational leadership and crisis management, volunteer development and management, and group and process facilitation.
