The Unified Communications Community focuses on best practices, business fundamental education and resources for companies engaged in the creation and delivery of this rapidly-developing technology. The group is in the development stage, designed to provide networking opportunities among thought leaders from this segment of the industry. The Unified Communications Community will focus their efforts on building business specific education programs and creating member-driven initiatives to reach their overall objectives.

Current member-driven initiatives

  • Develop a common understanding/definition of UC to include descriptive business models and technology clarification
  • Create channel and partnership enablement education
  • Design sales process and best practice education, as well as prescriptive models to aid in business transformation
  • Develop UC research to highlight the best potential business opportunities and demystify the technology.

Members include:

    Members of the Unified Communications Community include executives of companies with a focus in this technology. This includes CEOs, owners, presidents or other C-level executives of small to mid-size organizations, and VPs or directors (with a services responsibility) of larger companies

Unified Communications Community Staff Leader

Kate Hunt, director of communities, CompTIA, manages the association’s Cloud Community and Unified Communications Community.  She helps the communities to identify and act on initiatives that will positively impact the entire IT channel.  She has spent most of the past decade in the IT channel exclusively. She has served previously in various roles for VAR companies, channel vendors and channel training organizations.  From service delivery to vendor relationships to marketing and sales, she has seen it all and understands what works.
