Fred Gates Shares His Experiences as an IT Instructor
No two weeks are ever the same for Fred Gates. As an IT instructor for the Manhattan Associates in Atlanta, Georgia, Gates travels at least two weeks out of every month for his job.
The constant change is one of the things he likes most about his job.
“Sometimes, you get a class and they are good, and they are funny, and it is not just sitting behind a desk - you are standing up it’s like your own stage every day,” Fred said. “Sometimes, it’s not as good, but you sit there and think ‘The good news is next week it will be different!’”
Fred has been teaching for more than 10 years, and his background is as a technical instructor for various software. He teaches classes on how to configure and set up software to meet business objectives.
Patrick Stamps Shares His IT Experiences
You could say IT runs in Patrick Stamps' family. His father owned a computer repair shop when Patrick was young, so he grew up around computers. But Patrick did not really get involved in IT until his early 20s, when his involvement in music led to an interest in becoming a studio engineer. His desire to learn more about IT led him to take a job as a systems operator for the Spice Lab in the Electrical Engineering College at Brigham Young University in the spring of 2000.
CompTIA Project+ Provides a Good Framework
Getting CompTIA Project+ certified has lent the consultants at IreeTec more credibility. Lisa-Ann Barnes, president and founder of IreeTec, Inc., served on the CompTIA Project+ committee when the certification was originally created. She earned her certification then and now recommends it to staff at her project management consulting firm.
