CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Association of Informatics and Telecommunications, is pleased to invite you to its next European Innovation Forum in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the Grand Hotel Union, Miklošičeva 1, Ljubljana, on Monday,16th June 2008, from 9.30 to 15.30.
One of the highly significant topics of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2008 is the Lisbon Strategy, entering a new three-year cycle. In this context, special attention is given to initiatives that aim at create an innovative and dynamic society, new conditions for a competitive economy and new solutions with regard to education and vocational training. The “new” Lisbon Strategy focuses on small and medium-sized companies as one of the key drivers of European economic growth.
In the first months of the Presidency, Slovenia has demonstrated that, despite a small size and status as one of the new Member States, is capable of fulfilling this important role competently and effectively.
The Ljubljana Innovation Forum is organised by CompTIA in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Association of Informatics and Telecommunications (ZIT). It follows on to the successful Fora held in Warsaw, Copenhagen, Prague, Berlin and Lisbon in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
The European Innovation Fora spotlight local, national and European innovative policies in the key areas for the ICT industry, such as intellectual property, industry-based open and multiple standards, e-skills and work-force development. These Fora are essential meeting ground for industry, regulators and media to develop and discuss workable innovative strategies for Europe’s ICT industry.
