INVITATION

CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, in cooperation with ASSOFT is pleased to invite you to its next European Innovation Forum in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Corinthia Lisboa Hotel, Av. Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro 105, Lisbon-Centre, on 11th October 2007, from 9:00 to 15:00.

Portugal, which recently took over the EU presidency, has outlined that one of the priorities of the Portuguese Presidency over the next six months will be to develop and deep the EU's "Lisbon Strategy".

In this context, the Portuguese Presidency gives special attention to initiatives for industry innovation and technological advancement, emphasising the promotion of innovative capability through better protection of intellectual property rights, improved access to education and training, and in particular increased focus on SMEs.

The Lisbon European Innovation Forum is organised by CompTIA in cooperation with ASSOFT, the Portuguese Software Association, ANETIE, the Portuguese National Association of Enterprises of Informatics and Electronics Technologies, and the Portuguese chapter of the "European Alliance on Skills for Employability". It follows on to the successful Fora held in Warsaw, Copenhagen, Prague and Berlin in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The European Innovation Fora spotlight local, national and European innovative policies in the key areas for the ICT industry, such as intellectual property, industry-based open and multiple standards, e-skills and work-force development. These Fora are essential meeting ground for industry, regulators, and media to develop and discuss workable innovative strategies for Europe's ICT industry.
