CompTIA's UK Channel Community is the focal point for our industry-based activities. Formed in 2011, it provides a platform for thought leaders from across the UK IT channel (including resellers, solution providers, distributors, vendors and channel associates) to network, share ideas and develop best practices. The Community aims to be a valuable source of business education and resources for companies engaged in the delivery of IT services in the UK.

Community Goals

  • To provide participants with face-to-face and online networking
  • To pursue common goals for the industry through the development of association designed and/or managed initiatives
  • To provide a voice for the concerns and issues of UK members and represent these views in appropriate environments
  • To help CompTIA understand how it can best serve the members within the UK IT channel and the UK IT Channel itself

Current member-driven initiatives

  • Driving professionalism and accountability into the industry by introducing  UK specific organisational credentials that  identify quality IT businesses and help them drive improvement
  • CompTIA IT Business Trustmark is our entry-level credential, and is designed to validate an IT company’s ability to demonstrate sound business practices and provide quality service
  • CompTIA Accredit UK Trustmark is our high-level credential, fully audited by approved external assessors. It is the premier benchmark for IT companies wishing to prove their procedural excellence and adherence to proven best practices.
  • Localising our Member Resource Centre for UK members, providing a relevant and immediately usable set of world-class guidance, advice, templates and related materials for IT suppliers

UK Channel Community Staff Leader

William Linard the senior membership engagement manager for CompTIA in the UK, an international technology services professional and a proponent of the IT channel.

Recently inaugurated onto the CRN A-List, Linard is responsible for elevating the association's public profile among its membership and across the IT industry. As CompTIA's UK Channel Community manager, he is the liaison between members and the association; helping to shape and localise CompTIA educational programmes, as well as lead association initiatives for the UK IT channel.

A graduate of Sheffield Hallam University, Linard has served several roles at CompTIA and brings a wealth of project, event, marketing and collaboration experience to the association.
