Steve Barone

Steve Barone is the founder of Creative Breakthroughs, Inc. (CBI), which was established in 1991. CBI began as a garage-based business and, under Barone's leadership, has since grown to become one of the largest IT compliance and risk management firms in the nation.

Barone has consistently distinguished his leadership and entrepreneurial skills over the 19 years that CBI has been in operation. The cornerstone of his approach is best defined as "adaptive leadership," the ability to tackle current industry challenges and build enterprise adaptability for the future.

Barone is routinely called upon to speak at tech industry and vendor events across the country and is recognized as an expert in matters relating to network security and risk management. He also supports various research firms like Gartner and CRN by providing his expertise around end-user needs, new technologies and channel partner matters. CBI has secured its position in the VAR 500 list of the biggest and best IT solution providers in North America.

Barone attended Wayne State University and the University of California, Los Angeles. He has served on several global and regional advisory boards for tech companies, including Symantec, Imprivata and Cyberoam. He is deeply involved in a variety of local youth athletic organizations and charities. He actively supports the needs of the homeless community with DART (Detroit Area Rescue Team), the grassroots, non-profit company he formed near his childhood home. Barone resides with his daughter, Alyssa, in Birmingham, Michigan.
