Information technology is a field with tremendous room for growth, and rich opportunities for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs recognizes CompTIA as a valuable provider of IT training by funding reimbursement for some of our programs.

All CompTIA certifications, including CompTIA A+CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+, are reimbursable through the G.I. Bill. The Department of Veteran Affairs has an online application to apply for education benefits.

Veterans may be eligible to receive funding for career training and education through the Dept. of Veteran Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VRE) service. To find out if you are eligible for funding and to connect with a career counselor in your area, call the nationwide toll free number, 1-800-827-1000, and request VA Form 28-8832: Application for Vocational Educational Counseling.

Some veterans may also be eligible for the CompTIA Educational Foundation’s Creating Futures program, which funds IT training and certification for returning veterans, among other groups under-represented in the IT industry.
